I worry about who actually edits articles like these. I like the fact the author makes the essential distinction between feelings and emotions. However she makes some fundamental mistakes like stating emotions are bodily driven, while feelings are cognitive. The converse is closer but it’s far more nuanced than that.

Feelings are the split second subconscious response to a stimulus, not emotions. Emotions are a conscious cognitive construct that takes raw feeling as input.

The author quotes Joseph LeDoux, but it’s important to know that he is the leading proponent of the thesis that emotions are the result of a conscious cognitive construct and not the initial feeling generated as a response to a subconscious detection of a stimuli.
